Postdoctoral Researcher Position (2 years) at the Department of Animal Science and Food Processing

The Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (https://www.ftz.czu.cz/en) at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (https://www.czu.cz/en) invites applications for a researcher position to contribute to high-impact research at the Department of Animal Science and Food Processing.

We seek a skilled, independent researcher to join our team and enhance the department’s expertise. We are looking for a researcher with a strong background in animal ecology, ecological modelling, and environmental sustainability, who will contribute to advancing research in wildlife conservation, management, and sustainable farming practices. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data science, bioinformatics, and the use of core software tools such as R, Python, GIS or other platforms for ecological and genomic data analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct independent and collaborative research aligned with the Faculty’s strategic priorities

Publish in high-impact international peer-reviewed journals (at least 5 peer-reviewed articles published or accepted within 2 years in reputable international journals, Q1 or Q2 in relevant Web of Science fields).

Contribute to grant writing efforts (at least one GAČR-Czech Science Foundation research project proposal prepared)

Support mentoring of graduate students

Participate actively in faculty seminars, conferences, and knowledge-sharing platforms

 

Essential Qualifications

PhD in a relevant field

Strong publication record in international peer-reviewed journals

Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English

Proficiency in relevant research methodologies

Ability to work both independently and within interdisciplinary teams

We offer a possibility for two-year contract.

The gross (brutto) salary is CZK 60,000 (~EUR 2,500).
