Postdoctoral Researcher Position (2 years) at the Department of Economics and Development

The Faculty of Tropical AgriSciences (https://www.ftz.czu.cz/en) at the Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (https://www.czu.cz/en) invites applications for a researcher position to contribute to high-impact research and grant writing in agricultural and development economics.

We seek a highly motivated researchers with a demonstrated record of academic excellence and a strong interest in addressing challenges facing particular in tropical and subtropical regions. The position is open to candidates from disciplines including agricultural, environmental and development economics.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct independent and collaborative research aligned with the Faculty’s strategic priorities

Publish in high-impact international peer-reviewed journals (at least 5 peer-reviewed articles published or accepted within 2 years in reputable international journals, preferably Q1 or Q2 in relevant Web of Science fields).

Managing research proposals (at least one GAČR-Czech Science Foundation research project proposal prepared)

Support mentoring of graduate students

Engage with development partners, NGOs, and stakeholders in tropical and subtropical regions

 

Essential Qualifications

PhD in a relevant field

Strong publication record in international peer-reviewed journals

Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in English

Proficiency in relevant research methodologies (advanced statistical and econometric data analysis)

Ability to work both independently and within international teams

We offer a possibility for two-year contract.

The gross (brutto) salary is CZK 60,000 (~EUR 2,500).
