Faculty of Agrobiology, Food and Natural Resources, Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, invites applicants for the position of:

Team member/Junior researcher in Food Technology

Project DRIFT-FOOD, WIDESPREAD-06-2020

We are looking for candidates for the Junior Team Member in the ERA Chair Research Group.

We are an ambitious institution and aim at developing significant regional and international strength in Food Technology fully utilising the state-of-the-art facilities established through European and National support.

Requirements:

• PhD in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Chemistry, Food Biotechnology, or equivalent
• Fluency in English and strong communication and teamwork skills
• Excellent laboratory and analytical skills
• Solid understanding of food science and ingredient interactions

Desirable Profile:

• Experience in food processing, product development, and food analysis at semi and pilot scale.
• Recent research achievements and publications in food technology–related fields
• Participation in national or international research projects
• Independent, creative, and motivated researcher with strong problem-solving skills

Responsibilities:

• Conduct independent and collaborative research in food technology (e.g. cereal, dairy, meat, postharvest technologies, product development)
• Data collection, analysis, and literature review
• Publish research results and support dissemination activities
• Collaborate on grant applications and funding acquisition
• Collaborate in teaching and student supervision

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE PROVIDED WITH:

• A full-time position contract (9 months supported by the ERA Chairs grant)
• • A competitive salary of € 30,000 gross per year (approx. net salary of € 24,000); Prague benefits from significantly lower cost of living compared with the most of EU capitals)
  • Benefits include 40 days of annual leave, flexible working hours, relocation support from CZU welcome centre, supplementary for the pension insurance contributions, meal vouchers, subsidized meals at CZU campus, opportunity of accommodation at CZU campus.
